Unseen Music (curated by Keith and Hollie Kenniff) did a massive job to put up a 38-pieces compilation to raise donations for Japan relief efforts. Featuring artists like Ryuichi Sakamoto, Biosphere, Robin Guthrie & Harold Budd, Taylor Deupree, Max Richter, Nils Frahm & Anne Müller, Alva Noto, Ametsub and aus (to name just a few) this compilation delivers finest music giving you all the chance to help the victims of the earthquake and tsunami disaster on March 11th in Japan. All the profits from the sale of “For Nihon” will be donated to Japan Earthquake Relief Fund.
The digital Editions (mp3 / flac) are available through the Unseen Music Store - also a 2xCD pre-order can be placed there. That’s what I did personally and I really cannot wait to listen through the complete compilation.
And a personal note to close this entry: I’m honoured that my dear friend and Tokyo-resident Yasuhiko (who is featured on this compilation as aus) asked me to contribute some violin recordings for his wonderful piece ‘Daylight’. Really flattered to be part of this beautiful composition and to administer a very humble and small contribution to this fantastic project with it - so many thanks to Hollie and Keith for putting up this “For Nihon” project.
Ah yes, by the way: Yasuhiko is also putting together a compilation for Japan relief efforts with his own label flau.
